I've got an aluminum powerbook with the "old" (re: pre-USB) trackpad connected via ADB. I managed to find a neato patch here for the 2.6.15 kernel that enabled "absolute mode" on the trackpad, and a minor patch on the same site for the Synaptics X.org driver to allow it to communicate via ADB.

Long story short, I'm looking to upgrade my kernel to 2.6.16+, and the patch prevents evdev.c from compiling. I'm not quite confident enough to go in there and muck with it, but I was wondering if anyone else had any knowledge of this little bit of hackery - like whether or not it'll ever be updated again, or if something like this will do into the mainline Kernel. I remember some LKML discussion about this from, like, January, and nothing since.

Anyone know anything about this?
