Hi everyone,

I am one of the people using nvidia-cards on ppc. The nv driver works quite ok (without 3D accelleration, of course), but there is still one issue: I cannot use an external display, not even when booting with the display plugged in. As I do need my notebook from time to time to do a presentation, I cannot do without Mac OS X at the moment. Is there hope that sometimes the nv driver (or some other driver) will be able to use the external display?

I cant :( but y can use the Dirty Option :P

Dirty option: u need one mouse and one xternal keywoard. Run mac OX and connect the external VGA, mouse and keywoard. Close que notebook monitor and press keywoard or usb button, u can see mac ox in external VGA. Reboot the computer without open notebook Monitor and run linux.U can see linux in external VGA with 1024x768 resolution.

Great shot :P

yes, that is correct, but you don't even have to boot macos x. just open your book, start it and close it as soon as you can. you will get an picture on the external display and once you have boot successfully you can open your notebook and use the keyboard and touchpad. (that works for me, so I guess it should work for you, too)

regards,

markus

Thanks for the hint, guys, I am going to try this. I wonder if it also works after suspend-to-disk. If it does, it is an option. Not on the fly, but at least without restarting all the programs...
