This is on my G3 Wallstreet. I emerged FireFox 1.5.0.3, and when I try to launch it, this is what it says:

/usr/sbin/run-mozilla.sh: line 166: /usr/sbin/firefox-bin: cannot execute binary file

I've changed the chmod to allow execution, but it still does this.

Help please!

That error means that the binary isn't compatible with your architecture. Is your GCC setup correctly with gcc-config? are your CFLAGS correct?

AFAIK they are. I've compiled everything else on this system without trouble...

I've got madwifi-ng working perfectly, and that was a recent compile.

sbin?? That doesn't look right to me.
run-mozilla.sh is found in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox on my system, as is firefox-bin

The only place I have firefox-bin is in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/ . The executable named
firefox in the /usr/bin directory is a shell script which refer to a shell script in /usr/libexec
which in turn refer to a shell script in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox which does eventually
run /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/firefox-bin which is of the following type:
Code:
file /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/firefox-bin
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/firefox-bin: ELF 32-bit MSB executable, PowerPC or cisco 4500, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped

I really suspect the presence of a firefox-bin ebuild. Could you give us the result
of the following code
Code:
emerge -pv mozilla-firefox
