Hi,
scuse me if the post is not new, but i'm going crazy :)
i'm trying to connect to the internet from mol through gentoo.
I'm behind a proxy and in gentoo i connect with no problem to the internet.
i've compiled as built-in all the modules that JoseJX writes out in https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-422735-highlight-mol.html , except Socket Filtering, which i cant find in my 2.6.15-r5 gentoo sources (but i've read somewhere in the forum that socket filtering is necessary for 2.4.* kernels..).

This is my iptables (i dont understand a lot about iptables since i've never used it!)
Code:
# /sbin/iptables -t nat -L
Chain PREROUTING (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination
mol-ns-redirect  tcp  --  anywhere             192.168.41.1        tcp dpt:domain
mol-ns-redirect  udp  --  anywhere             192.168.41.1        udp dpt:domain

Chain POSTROUTING (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination
MASQUERADE  all  --  192.168.41.0/24     !192.168.41.0/24

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination

Chain mol-ns-redirect (2 references)
target     prot opt source               destination
DNAT       all  --  anywhere             anywhere            to:192.168.37.1

Moreover, gentoo and mol can ping eachother (and from gentoo i can mount macosx partition via samba..) using local ip adressed 192.168.41.1/2, so that part of the net works: it seems to me that it doesent work the link between eth0 and tun1..
This my ifconig:
Code:
# ifconfig
eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:14:51:1F:05:88
          inet addr:192.168.37.143  Bcast:192.168.37.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          RX packets:1223 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:11
          TX packets:905 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:6 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:625743 (611.0 Kb)  TX bytes:109684 (107.1 Kb)
          Interrupt:41 Base address:0x3000

lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:127.0.0.1  Mask:255.0.0.0
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1
          RX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
          RX bytes:500 (500.0 b)  TX bytes:500 (500.0 b)

tun1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr F2:34:CA:BC:2E:87
          inet addr:192.168.41.1  Bcast:192.168.41.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          RX packets:244 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:39 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:500
          RX bytes:23156 (22.6 Kb)  TX bytes:5862 (5.7 Kb)

Thanks in advance! :)

now with vanilla-sources everything is ok: i can connect to the internet with mol.
but now in university i'm behind a proxy and mol doesent work anymore.
via kde i set proxy address in control center, i also have set proxy in make.conf and wgetrc (in order to emerge..).
i have also tried to export http_proxy="131.44.4.3:8080" in console but nothing happens.
suggestions??

It's not something like setting the proxy in MacOS (or whatever you're running under mol)? You've probably thought of that but it's something that I know I'd overlook in circumstances like this!
