dmesg has some of these lines:
Code:
eth1: MAC controller error (WTERR). Ignoring.
eth1: MAC controller error (WTERR). Ignoring.

It's no serious problem, eth1 is working fine. I see these lines the first time, because I am using airport under heavy load for the first time.

Hm, I still have these logs about every half an hour or every hour.
May that be a hint about mac spoofing? The network has only 64bit WEP but the AP doesn't log any foreign mac adress tries.

It's probably a hardware/driver issue. The MAC here is the MAC portion of the WiFi card, which controls things like association, authentication, etc. Which kernel is this happening with?

Applies to kernel 2.6.12 up to 2.6.17-r8.
I also get reconnected several times a day to the repeater. There is a repeater close here (Ovislink 5460 in Repeater WISP Mode) using 64 bit WEP.

I just want to be sure that it's no spoofing attack. How could I detect this more detailed? arpwatch?
