Hello,
I am back again with another problem I cannot figure out. I am still getting things set up on my G3 iMac. The computer has a 16 mb Rage 128 Ultra video card. According to Apple, this card should be able to support output on 1024x768 in 32-bit color mode. However, I cannot get it to display gensplash at that resolution. I followed the Gensplash wiki article and have set my yaboot.conf accordingly (yes I remembered to run ybin -v). I am using video=atyfb128:1024x768-32@60 in my append line. No matter what I put there though, I cannot get it run in anything but 8bpp mode.

yaboot.conf
Code:

iMac ~ # cat /etc/yaboot.conf
## yaboot.conf generated by yabootconfig 1.0.8
##
## run: "man yaboot.conf" for details. Do not make changes until you have!!
##
## For a dual-boot menu, add one or more of:
## bsd=/dev/hdaX, macos=/dev/hdaY, macosx=/dev/hdaZ

boot=/dev/hda2
device=/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/ata-4@1f000/disk@0:
partition=4
root=/dev/hda4
timeout=30
install=/usr/lib/yaboot/yaboot
magicboot=/usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot

image=/boot/vmlinux
        label=Linux-2.6.16-gentoo-r7
        read-only
        append="video=atyfb128:1024x768-16@60 splash=silent,fadein,theme=livecd-2006.0 quiet CONSOLE=/dev/tty1"
        initrd=/boot/fbsplash-livecd-1024x768

image=/boot/vmlinux
        label=Linux Regular
        read-only

#CD-ROM boot
enablecdboot

Any help would be appreciated. I have the framebuffer compiled into the kernel.
