heylow

this is an intermittent thing that happens quite often, just thought id ask to see if anyone else has had this:

turn laptop on, start booting linux, then screen goes blank but its lit up, only way you can carry on is hard reboot, the system still boots because i insert a cd and i can eject with FN eject.

cheers for any light on it

I'had the same issue on my old x86 notebook with a Sis 630 (damn you sis) integrated graphic card.
Simply I had more than a framebuffer driver in the kernel, recompiling with just the right framebuffer support did the trick.
But is also true that I had that problem EVERY TIME i booted that kernel (it was sometihng like 2.5.17) so I dont know if my answer is really related to your question..
:)

There is only one driver selected... ah well, doesnt do it all the time, maybe a kernel upgrade will fix it in future?

(running unstable 2.6.17-r2) maybe ill try r4

cheers :)
