Keyboard has no input (only mouse pointer, left and right keys works on keyboard) after I did an update to xorg-7 on a TiBook G4. I read the howto steps for the upgrade but am having problems understanding the XKB part. :? I got an error message when I used the gnome Keyboard setup saying "Error activating XKB configuration".

/etc/make.conf file has INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse".

I am unable to post Xorg log because of my keyboard problem. But I did not see any errors for the keyboard in it.

edit
OK I "Switch User" in gnome menu with my pointer, then I log back in as the same user and now have control of my keyboard! But if I reboot the control is lost until I do the "switch user" trick.

Part of my /var/log/gdm

Code:
 (**) RADEON(0): Initializing Xv
(**) RADEON(0): RADEONScreenInit finished
    xkb_keycodes             { include "xfree86+aliases(qwerty)" };
    xkb_types                { include "complete" };
    xkb_compatibility        { include "complete" };
    xkb_symbols              { include "pc(pc105)+macintosh+compose(rwin)" };
    xkb_geometry             { include "pc(pc105)" };
The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
> Error:            Can't find file "macintosh" for symbols include
>                   Exiting
>                   Abandoning symbols file "default"
Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server

part of xorg log

Code:
II) GLX: Initialized DRI GL provider for screen 0
    xkb_keycodes             { include "xfree86+aliases(qwerty)" };
    xkb_types                { include "complete" };
    xkb_compatibility        { include "complete" };
    xkb_symbols              { include "pc(pc105)+macintosh+compose(rwin)" };
    xkb_geometry             { include "pc(pc105)" };

I could not find any (EE) in the log for XKB.

Got my keyboard keys working by setting VTAllocation to true in/etc/x11/gdm.

Code:
# Automatic VT allocation.  Right now only works on Linux.  This way
# we force X to use specific vts.  turn VTAllocation to false if this
# is causing problems.
FirstVT=7
VTAllocation=true

Still not able to switch to different Virtual Terminals with crl+option+F6, F7 etc. I have to use
Code:
 chvt 6
to switch terminal.
