Hi There!

I'm trying to install gentoo on my ibook G4 800Mhz.
I got so far to set up Xorg, but I can't manage to start it.
I got always this "no driver found message".
So Xorg is complaining it doesn't find the radeon driver...Unluckily I followed the Xorg-Configuration from the Desktop-Howto and set VIDEO_CARDS="fglrx", therefore I have no radeon driver. How can I get one with an already installed Xorg?

greetings, bienchen

Add radeon to your useflags and then
Code:
emerge --newuse xorg-server -Duv

You might want to take a look at this for more info:

Well, I wrote the FAQ. :)

As for the portage command, emerge --help lists all of the available options. --newuse is an option that will cause portage to include packages that are already compiled, but were compiled with different use flags than the current configuration. By specifying -Du, it will include any packages that need to be upgraded, along with the dependencies. And well, xorg-server because you were having trouble with xorg-server. You can specify world to have it rebuild *all* packages on your system. Reading the portage portion of the handbook might be helpful too: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-ppc.xml?part=3

Well, the --newuse stuff was known to me. But the xorg-server thingi I couldn't get out by myself.
Everything I got from the faq worked for me, up to now ;-)

greetings,

bienchen
