I've got an iBook g4 1.33ghz machine. I recently got the bcm43xx driver working, and it WILL work, but the problem lies in the first time I try to connect.. I connect like this:
ifconfig eth1 up
iwconfig eth1 essid "xoa7rou6" mode managed
wpa_supplicant -i eth1 -D wext -w -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf &
Running all the commands by hand, because I heard the bcm43xx driver is a little "weird" and there needs to be some delay when you initialize it. I have my network info in wpa_supplicant.conf, and after it says the network was authorized, I run dhcpcd.
After that, I can ping google.com about twice, then it stops working. I have to wait for about 10 minute for it to "reauth" (so it says), then it will start working for good.. I'm not really sure what the problem is here.. After it reconnects, it works fine for as long as I have my computer on.
I'm running kernel version 2.6.17-gentoo-r5.
