Is there documentation on how to configure mol to use an iso image of an OS that is NOT OSX or OS9? I can't get the gentoo cd to work or anything other than some apple cd. Most of the documentation is concerned with the various apple OSs'.

No, it's not supported atm. (Well, sort of for old 2.4 kernels with some hacking). I'm currently writing platform code for the kernel so that Linux-2.6 can boot from within MOL. I'm hoping to have the patches ready for review before the 2.6.20 cycle, with the intent of maybe getting it merged at .21 at the latest. As for other OSes, they will require MOL drivers, so unless there's someone who is willing to work on it, they won't be supported.

Hope that helps. :)

Was the work completed? It would be really great to have this functionality.

Sort of, it's still in progress. I've started a new MOL project ( http://mac-on-linux.sourceforge.net/ ) so the development is more open. Unfortunately, I've spent more time getting MOL back into shape rather than working on new features. It's on my list of things to do though. Patches are certainly accepted. :p
