Some time ago I was using therm-adm103x driver to set my iBooks fan speed. But since a few kernels there is no upstream anymore. Is there a way to get Cedrics therm-adm103x driver http://cedric.pradalier.free.fr/ibook2 to the gentoo-sources or as an ebuild?
Beause increasing my iBooks temperatur for only 1 degree saved me a lot of noise..

At that time (last 2.6.15) it was very easy to use over sysfs: echo "56 10" > /sys/device/temperatures/info0 for starting fan at 56 degree until 66 (full speed).

Cedric himself told me that it could come into kernel sources only if lot of people ask for it.

Good news everybody:

Since Cedric got his iBook back, there is a new kernel patch:

Works properly on the current kernel:
Code:
# uname -r ; cat /sys/devices/temperatures/info*
2.6.19-gentoo-r4
T:49.500*C S:56*C R:5*C H:2*C
T:45.375*C S:52*C R:5*C H:2*C

Most likely not. The best bet is to get it integrated into upstream.
