Did an emerge gstreamer which said one must undo and redo Prelink well I did! And now I can not run any commands (except prelink) or start any apps (only running apps that were runing before prelink action).
I have prelink version 1.0. Is there anyway to get my gentoo up and running without doing an re-install? I have seamonkey, vlc, and terminal running. I think if I try a reboot am DEAD.

Try reverting the prelinking with:
Code:
/usr/sbin/prelink -uav

Does that help? You should be able to still use the busybox shell (bb) if everything else dies. :p

No
Code:
/usr/sbin/prelink -uav

did not work. I am now doing a crash course in busybox, never heard of it till now! Will get back as soon as I have a working knowledge of it. :)

I don't think busybox is install.
Code:

bin # /bin/busybox
Segmentation fault

So is there a way of installing busybox?

Use bb as I suggested. It's a statically linked busybox executable.

What didn't work with the prelink undo command?

This thread has someone with the same problem: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-511654-highlight-prelink+dependency+tracing.html

Which prelink are you using?

prelink version 1.0. Yes I saw that thread. I was hoping I would not have to do an re-install if I did not reboot my system in the state it is in.
Is there a way to get sys-devel/prelink-20060712-r1 install by Busybox.?
