I'm running KDE 3.5, which includes some power management utilities, which does everything I'm interested in except for lack of suspend. Would it be safe to run pbbuttonsd as well to allow for suspends. Would I need to disable anything in KDE (or pbbuttonsd) to avoid overlaps or system mulfunction?

Do you mean the KDE options for display powermanagement? For the iBook I manage all by pbbuttonsd, dimming and suspend. KDE doesn't know about display brightness or even switching off the lcd display backlight. For health reasons I don't switch off the backlight automatically, just dimming to minimum. I only switch off the backlight manually if I leave for hours (my iBook is running night and day).

No, I was referring mainly to the battery management. I've been running KDE+pbbuttonsd since thread start, no problems. The only major thing is KDE's battery management continuesly tells me I have way more battery then what I really do (right now it says 98% 137:29 hours remaining). Any ideas on how to calibrate this thing?
