I downloaded the last live ppc32 cd.

I want the scsi support, so I boot using "apple doscsi", but when I come to the bash shell I type lsmod, and no scsi module is loaded but I have ieee1394 ohci1394 and sbp2 loaded for the firewire support that I also need.

at this point I had my first problem due to I'm trying to install on my firewire external device.

I loaded the module sd_mod. The system recornize the drive as a scsi drive and give me /dev/sda.

I can make my partitions, format them... whatever I want.

so I start to install stage3, compiling....

I come to yaboot conf step

.big problem here:

I need to use ofpath to determite the value for "device="

I run it, and I get an error: no scsi driver

so I try to load everything I found in /lib/modules/gentoo-apple/driver/scsi to get the scsi driver that ofpath needs

and the error change:

"ofpath: Driver: allow_dio debug def_reserved_size device_hdr device_strs devices version is not supported".

how can I get it working assuming that I can only run the livecd.

The alias fw should point to your firewire device (much like hd points to your harddisk). Give that a try.
