I was happy to bring life into my G5 which has been collecting dust for ages. But i would love to use it as a host for other OS as well..

afaik there's no way to install vm-ware server on this arch

Is this possible at all?

nope, vmware is x86 and amd64 only. You can try xen, vserver and openvz. Those are all ported to ppc64

From looking at sys-kernel in portage, only openvz has any sort of ppc support currently.

Mac-on-Linux might someday maybe have PPC64 support (depending on JoseJX getting a PPC64 machine).
