Hello everyone

I was trying to emerge kde but several of the packages I tried to install ended with this cryptical message and an error report. But it is the message that is most disturbing because kde was a fresh install on this system.

Code:
...
configure: error:
you need to install kdelibs first.

If you did install kdelibs, then the Qt version that is picked up by
this configure is not the same version you used to compile kdelibs.
The Qt Plugin installed by kdelibs is *ONLY* loadable if it is the
_same Qt version_, compiled with the _same compiler_ and the same Qt
configuration settings.

!!! Please attach the following file when filing a report to bugs.gentoo.org:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/kde-base/kdegraphics-3.5.5-r2/work/kdegraphics-3.5.5/config.log

!!! ERROR: kde-base/kdegraphics-3.5.5-r2 failed.
Call stack:
  ebuild.sh, line 1614:   Called dyn_compile
  ebuild.sh, line 971:   Called qa_call 'src_compile'
  environment, line 4708:   Called src_compile
  kdegraphics-3.5.5-r2.ebuild, line 68:   Called kde_src_compile
  kde.eclass, line 170:   Called kde_src_compile 'all'
kde.eclass, line 340:   Called kde_src_compile 'myconf' 'configure' 'make'
  kde.eclass, line 322:   Called econf '--without-openexr' '--without-poppler' '--without-kamera' '--with-x' '--enable-mitsh$  ebuild.sh, line 577:   Called die

!!! econf failed

Has anyone seen this before, and how can I get this to work?

Sincerely
Gustav

Very strange. Can you provide us with the last few line of /var/log/emerge.log
If possible from the record of the merging of kdelibs to your failure which should be
at the end (unless you emerged something else since then).

Was QT4 installed by accident?

Try re-emerging qt and kdelibs, it looks like it might be this bug:
