Hello Gentoo PPC folks. I've got a CD Ripper project called Ripoff hosted here:

http://ripoffc.sourceforge.net

I hope to get it into Gentoo, but the one Gentoo dev who bothered trying it out reported ripping to WAV did not work on PPC. I think I've figured out the problem, but the dev won't help me any further. So, what I'm wondering is if there are any kind souls out there who would like to try my ripper and report whether it can rip successfully to MP3, FLAC, and OGG Vorbis. If you decide to, please private message me the results. There's an ebuild included in the tar ball under the misc/ folder, although you'll have to add the ppc keyword to it to use it.

Thanks!

OK, it emerged fine.

I tried it with one cd (Oxygene from Jean-Michel Jarre to be precise).
The first track ripped fine to wav. but the second got stuck at the begining
and never terminated (I waited about 1 hour that's a bit long for a 7mn track).
I didn't check that track 1 was ripped to a valid wav, I will listen to it latter to check.
And also I didn't run out of space on my HD (4.1 G to spare).

Did it rip to MP3, OGG, or FLAC successfully?

I have just tried ogg. The ripping stop somewhere in track 2 as well.
The ogg for track 1 is 56 KB which is totally unhealthy I don't think
I need to listen to it (the file generated by kaudiocreator is 6.4 MB
and the track is 7mn long).
I didn't think it would work as wav should be in the intermediate stage.

everything works.
ripped to ogg with q10.

the output ogg.files are totally distorted. just white noise.
the output wav.files are totally distorted. just white noise.

the output flac.files are fine.
