Hello, I installed Gentoo on a PowerMac G4 (Gigabit) 500Mhz have a lot of "Kernel Panics" and sound and another features doesnt work in my Gentoo Linux... :(

Please, can post your basic kernel configs for this machine or similar machines!!!????

Create a standard config that should work on your machine with make pmac32_defconfig
Build a kernel and see if you still have kernel panics. If you have, it may be due to hardware problems. The kernel configuration shouldn't be a problem afaik. In the ppc faq you can find information on how to configure alsa to enable sound.

hehe, sorry, I didnt know "make pmac32_defconfig", I installed Gentoo with x86 guide :oops:
