Hi, i installed gentoo on my ibook g3 and everything is fine, well except for the sound which is to lound and easilly distorted on high levels.

I emerge mplayer and every time i play a file it says incorrect frame size every frame (hell of alot of times) and it keeps saying it.

I didnt know what flags to compile it with so i did

USE="gtk dvd dvdread sse mmx win32codecs" emerge mplayer

can someone help me?

Thanks!

Maybe simply the video file is broken. I get this from time to time, too. Have you tried different files?
About the sound: Is the quality better if you play it in other programms?

PowerPC doesn't support SSE and MMX, you might want to remove those flags.

Those 3 use flags are masked in a package.use.mask file for the ppc profile.
Adding them on the command line or in /etc/portage/package.use
shouldn't have any effect whatsoever unless the profile has been messed up.
