Hello to all you out there in the space!

I am crosscompiling on a i686 machine for ppc (mpc5200b). i want to build a gentoo system for my ppc board to compile a few things that cant be crosscompiled.

a system with busybox, glibc, baselayout-lite and a few more progs works just fine.

but here is my problem: when i want to crossemerge gcc emerge wants to install bash and bash fails to compile. Anyways, i dont want bash. i already have installed a shell: busybox. so how can i make gcc not require bash?

THX for your suggestions or maybe solutions!

Kai

In the dependency tree, it looks like gcc does not require bash. However, readline does. I'm not sure, but I believe that is the only direct dependency for bash there.
