Hello,

Since I upgraded my kernel to gentoo-sources 2.6.23-r1, I cannot boot anymore my PowerBook G4 12".
It freezes just after yaboot load the kernel (I got just a ligne talking about mapping, then ... nothing).

I suspect an OpenFirmware issue : all options about it have disapeared from kernel configuration. I read changelogs about removing support of it from kernel or make it transparent...

Has someone with a powerbook successfully upgraded to 2.6.23? If yes, can he send his kernel configuration file?

Thanks,

Panard

I have no idea what you're talking about with regard to "removing open firmware" it's just not true. 26.23 boots fine on my Powerbook G4, but mine is ATI based. Most likely, there is a problem with the nvidia framebuffer in your kernel. Please try using ofonly or the nvidiafb (the opposite of the one you're using now...) and see if that helps.
