I have a Blue & White G3 400mhz, 640 MB Ram. I tried running the Gentoo 2007 LiveCd but get stuck at a certain point. After the hardware detection it gets to this point:

ide: failed opcode was: 0xde
hdf:<4>hdf: lost interrupt
hdf: lost interrupt
hdf: lost interrupt
hdf: lost interrupt
hdf: lost interrupt
hdf: lost interrupt
hdf: lost interrupt

this will just keep going.
What can i do ?

Bert

Is this an external drive woopud? If it is, I'm not sure if the Gentoo CD has many drivers to support those.

On my G3 I think I remember that same problem, I remade the CD and it has been installed and running fine ever since. Sounds like a longshot, but I do remember something strange like this . . . I think I do at least

It's possible the optical drive in your mac has problems reading cdr and cdrw media. I had to replace the dvd drive in my B&W with a newer one to be able to boot installation cd's that I burned on cdrws.
