Is there some way to install a package that insists that there is a missing keyword?

Obviously, I entered this into my package.keyword file, but it's still masked by a missing keyword.

How could such a simple program not support ppc or ppc64? Is there a way to override this or am I jsut out of luck? I was going to try and set up an answering machine using my modem.

The above should get it installing for you. If it works, please file a bug and we'll mark it in the tree as well.

Can't find the "ekeyword" command. It's not in /usr/lib/portage/bin.

As the FAQ says:
Quote:

This is done using the ekeyword tool which is part of the gentoolkit-dev package

Thanks,

That did it! I have no idea if it works, though, so I won't be filing a bug report on it. I will, however, file a bug report on 'mgetty'. That's what I really wanted anyways. I used this method on mgetty and apparently it came with vgetty. It installed and works identically to the install on my x86 Debian system. (my modem fails in the exact same way)

EDIT: I filed a bug report for mgetty. The ~ppc64 keyword has been added.

It's available with
Quote:
net-dialup/mgetty ~ppc64

in the file /etc/portage/package.keywords
