Hi I am a newcomer, just left slackware.. U see, I`m having trouble unmasking this package:
Code:
juan@localhost ~ $ sudo autounmask x11-terms/guake-0.1

 autounmask version 0.21 (using PortageXS-0.02.07 and portage-2.1.4.4)

 * Using repository: /usr/portage

 * Using package.keywords file: /etc/portage/package.keywords
 * Using package.unmask file: /etc/portage/package.unmask

 * Unmasking x11-terms/guake-0.1 and its dependencies.. this might take a while..

!!! Manifest file not found: '/usr/portage/x11-terms/guake/Manifest'
 * done!

y unmasked it manually but nothing happens:
Code:
x11-terms/guake-0.1-0.1 ~x86

and
Code:
x11-terms/guake-0.1-0.1 ~x86 ~amd64

and both times theemerge output was:
Code:
juan@localhost ~ $ sudo emerge -tuvaDN guake

These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

Calculating dependencies \!!! Manifest file not found: '/usr/portage/x11-terms/guake/Manifest'

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "x11-terms/guake" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- x11-terms/guake-0.1 (masked by: corruption)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

any advise?

Don't place the ebuild in the portage tree, use an overlay.

I think I`ve done everything suggested in the wiki:
Code:
mkdir -p /usr/local/portage/guake
cd /usr/local/portage/guake
gedit <here i copy paste the ebuild> <and save it to the dir..>
ebuild guake-0.1 digest
emerge x11-terms/guake
Calculating dependencies |
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "x11-terms/guake".

So then I tried:
Code:
cp -r /usr/local/portage/guake/ /usr/portage/

and steel the same output.. an I missing something?
PD:
Code:
localhost guake # emerge --search guake
Searching...
[ Results for search key : guake ]
[ Applications found : 0 ]

Placing the ebuild in
Quote:
/usr/local/portage/guake

can't work. The path must be
/usr/local/portage/x11-terms/guake
