Anyone know a trick to importing Opera bookmarks into Konqueror? The import function has the option, and it imports opera6.adr as a folder, but nothing is in it. :? Am I supposed to import other items from .opera too, or is this currently not working in Konqueror?

Any ideas?

Now let's see how the rest of it all runs :)

Cheers

Solved - All I needed to do was install kaddressbook, I'm surprised the configure step didn't pick that up. It probably ought to be a dependency.

All my favourite apps are installed and working nicely now - what a vast improvement over 4.0!

I just finished installing kde-scm* and kdebase-startkde wasn't isntalled either. Maybe the set is wrong? I'm installing it manually now.

Doing
Code:
paludis -pi --dl-upgrade always --dl-rebuild-scm always kde-scm

shows that, on my system, kdebase-startkde would be reinstalled, so I don't think it's a problem with the sets (unless something has been changed in the last 18 hours, when I last synced).

No, the set is right:
Code:
kdebase-scm.conf:
...
?: kde-base/kdebase-data:kde-svn
?: kde-base/kdebase-kioslaves:kde-svn
?: kde-base/kdebase-startkde:kde-svn
?: kde-base/kdebugdialog:kde-svn

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if kde-base/kmilo would be included. A 4.0.4 version does exist in gentoo's portage tree. Although I can't seem to find it anywhere in kde's svn tree. So that may be why you guys didn't create an ebuild for it. If you know anything about this, that would be great. It's not that big of a deal, I just got lineakd working fine.

I also had the problem with missing startkde until i was up and running.
Then there was a load of stuff still not installed. And even if i had it installed under kde 4.04 i could not figure out a way to get a complete kde from this live kde overlay.

Finally i did manage to get it all installed, and yes, the world file will get a lot of things in it but i guess it will be some way to unmerge all that once that day comes since its tagged with scm/svn. This worked for me, maybe someone has a better way please enlighten me in such case.

cd /var/paludis/repositories/kde
paludis -i --dl-upgrade as-needed --dl-reinstall-scm weekly --dl-reinstall-targets never kde-base/*
paludis -i --dl-upgrade as-needed --dl-reinstall-scm weekly --dl-reinstall-targets never kde-misc/*

pick the folders you like, and keyword them for paludis, like adding

app-office/* *

or maybe better like:

kde-misc/*:kde-svn::kde4-experimental *

or to not have to type so much and get it all:

*/*:kde-svn::kde4-experimental *

to my /etc/paludis/keywords.conf.d/kde-dependencies.conf

And finally i got to see all those plasma widgets people are messing with, even if some made plasma crash...

We had a kdebuild for it, until it was removed upstream, which is why we removed it, too.
So there is no kmilo in KDE anymore.

Yes, there are better ways. :)
Just read the documentation.
And yes, Plasma is still sort of crashy, but that should get better.

hmmm, where do i find that documentation? There is a folder in the repository called Documentation with a README that says:

"You can find in this dir two files with a list of atoms for /etc/portage/package.keywords/* and
/etc/portage/package.unmask/* files for kde-4.0.x."

Thats all.. apart from the paludis files to unmask.

I tried to read this thread but its a very very long one... ;-)
Could not find any Documentation about how to merge all kde in one go.

Hallo.

This night i have recompiled all kde-scm. I remove kde-base/phonon and i see that media-sound/phonon was compiled. I reinstall kdebase-startkde and all is ok now.....but i have a problem: no system's sounds and i have see that in kcontrol-settings is no more sound-icon for configuration. Boh....??
I have kmix and seem that all is ok with my soundcard hda-nvidia, but i repeat no system's sounds...

Some tips for that?

Thanks and excuse for my english... :(

First, there is a README file in the main folder of the repo. You can also find it online:
https://www2.mailstation.de/gitweb/?p=genkde4svn.git;a=blob;f=README;hb=HEAD

Second, on the Website, there is some information (for example the FAQ):
http://genkdesvn.mailstation.de/documentation/faq.html
Note, that some of the docs on the website are outdated, but we are currently updating it.
These sites should be ok (and the FAQ, of course):
http://genkdesvn.mailstation.de/documentation/settings-guide.html
http://genkdesvn.mailstation.de/documentation/general-information.html

I think, that you are missing a backend.
Either install media-sound/phonon with the use flag gstreamer enabled (to get the gstreamer backend), or install kde-base/phonon-xine, to get the xine backend, which we recommend.

Maybe I'll add a suggestion to the kdebuild later.

I didn't quite get, what you want to do.

So, a few more details would be helpful. :)

i'd like to port this package http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/gtk-kde4?content=74689 to the scm build (if someone hasn't already done it) and i'd like more informations on how to use the svn eclasses. as far as now i could install it on the 4 slot with official eclasses but not in the svn slot.

I can't get k3b-scm to compile. I've scrolled back a long way and don't see any errors, but it just won't make it!

Is there an easy way to collect the entire compile output so that I can search for an error message?

Sorry, no error message there.
k3b compiled fine here a few days ago.

Please provide a full build log:
Code:
paludis -i1 kde-base/k3b:kde-svn 2>&1 |tee ~/k3b_build.log

There is your error:
Code:
[ 45%] /mnt/windows/tmp/paludis/app-cdr-k3b-scm/work/k3b/k3b/plugins/decoder/ffmpeg/k3bffmpegwrapper.cpp:21:28: error: ffmpeg/avcodec.h: No such file or directory

What version of ffmpeg do you use and what use flags?

Fixed. Thanks.

Current k3b doesn't like the newest ffmpeg version.

K3b compiled OK, but I can't get it to recognize my burner. :? Can someone confirm k3b is now functional with kde svn, and my problem must be something local?

I've tried as user, and kdesu k3b. It launches fine, but can't seem to find a burner. It says I can add one, but I can find no way to do so- that option seems missing or non-functional? All my permissions are correct, and this burner works fine (for years) with k3b on all my other distros (including Gentoo) with kde-3.5.9.

I think I have all deps, and USE flags, but I guess I could be missing something. If anyone has this working, please list what deps you installed, and USE flags you enabled (if any), and if you had to manually add your burner.
