Having difficultly with superkaramba... karamba apps are complaining about bindings not being present. Is kdebindings going to be included in the overlay?

Thanks

I don't see anyone doing it soon, sorry. :(

For most karambas I have tested so far, krosspython is enough

kde-base/krosspython/krosspython-scm.kdebuild-1
Code:
# Copyright 1999-2008 Gentoo Foundation
# Distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License v2
# $Header$

KMNAME=kdebindings
KMMODULE="python/krosspython"
# Required for python/pykde4/cmake/modules/FindPythonLibrary.cmake which is
# used by krosspython
KMEXTRACTONLY="python/pykde4"

inherit kde4svn-meta

DESCRIPTION="Kross scripting framework: Python interpreter"
KEYWORDS=""
IUSE="debug"

DEPEND="dev-lang/python"

krossruby looks similar, and pykde4 is also no problem.

LiquidWeather++ needs to be hacked a bit to work with kde4, aero all in one works fine -> screenie...

Thanks, included. :)

I didn't push yet, want to do some testing first, it will be there later.

You'll need PyQt4.
Then
Code:
mkdir lwp && cd lwp
unzip /path/to/lwp-15.0.skz

Now edit liquid_weather.py, around lines 3663 to 3668, replace qt with PyQt4, so it looks like:
Code:
    try:
        from PyQt4 import *
        hasqt = 1
    except:
        karamba.execute('kdialog --title "%s" --error "%s" &' %(_('Critical Error'),_('You do not have PyQT installed.  This is a critical dependency for Liquid Weather ++.  Please install it and try again.')))
        sys.exit()

then do
Code:
zip -m -r ../lwp-15.0_modded.skz *

It does have issues here and there, e.g. when updating data, but basically it works.

EDIT: changed to import PyQt4, instead of commenting out the qt test.

I've been trying to update digikam and it always seems to get stuck at the same place in the build. when I look at at top, cc1plus is running at 100% at that point. I have the ctrl-c to kill it. Any suggestions?

Here's the build log: www.dpmr.ca/gentoo/digikam_build.log

Check GCC version. Compiler must be 4.2.*. Any higher & greycstoration will fail to compile. See http://www.nabble.com/Bug-483137:-digikam-fails-to-build-on-powerpc---libgreycstoration_la.all_cpp.lo-td17489973.html and others.

... then someone should reopen this one, but for kde4: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=163118

Looks as it is hanging at some completely different point. greycstoration is build way before that (at 8%).

My compiler is 4.3.1 so that shouldn't be a problem. Opening a bug at b.g.o won't work as this is an overlay.

Is there something I can add to the ebuild to get more diagnostics?

Yes it is! Please read : http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2063298&forum_id=334630

This has reported on both Digikam & the CImg Library discussion forums and the developers have replied in both cases.

edit : I note that 4.3.1 is supposed to work http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=163118 - maybe it does for some distros but here it still hangs at 21% - if I press Ctrl C after 5 mins or so I get :
Quote:

With a MAKEOPTS = -j5 it will halt at 21% - believe me - i' ve been there! Try changing to -j1 to see the true failure.

Following Gilles Caulier's comment #10 :
Quote:
Andi,
Talking with MAndriva team today, it sound like to use this directive :

export CXXFLAGS="%optflags -fno-tree-pre

...before to compile fix the problem with gcc 4.3.x. Can you confirm this ?

If I add flag-o-matic to my inherited eclasses and insert 'append-flags -fno-tree-pre' before src_compile then Digikam compiles fine with gcc-4.4.0. I' m sure that someone will tell me why this is not a good idea but for now it works!

ps. lensfun compiles for me & the plugin seems to present no problem for digiKam/showFoto (though I will admit to not having got to grips with it yet :-))

I left it going overnight, and it does eventually compile with gcc-4.3.1. I haven't tried the work-around yet.

Sorry Dagger - everything built fine here just now so can be of no help, but on the subject of found packages, for those wanting scanner support, it seems the FindKSane.cmake modules have been removed from individual apps (http://cia.vc/stats/project/kde/graphics). Plugins & Skanlite will compile if you copy FindKSane.cmake from .../KDE/kdegraphics/kdegraphics/cmake/modules to .../KDE/extragear/graphics/graphics/cmake/modules/. Do this after you've just checked something out from extragear/graphics and it will not be overwritten. Checks for ksane will now work - (well, for the next hour!). Hopefully someone can suggest a neater solution.

I already fixed that with a commit yesterday, but I wanted to wait for his result, before I push.

Ok, so you have that pkgconfig problem. tbh, I have no idea, what causes it and it works perfectly fine.
But I did now see it a few times already.

Could you provide your env file? (Upload it somewhere)
(Should be in /var/tmp/paludis/media-plugins-kipi-plugins-scm/temp)

All 3 libraries are in media-libs in gentoo tree and under kde-base in kde4-experimental

Ok, so you have that pkgconfig problem. tbh, I have no idea, what causes it and it works perfectly fine.
But I did now see it a few times already.

Could you provide your env file? (Upload it somewhere)
(Should be in /var/tmp/paludis/media-plugins-kipi-plugins-scm/temp)

resynced overlay and retry to build it. Same error
requested env

also

ls /usr/kde/svn/lib64/pkgconfig/
Code:

libkdcraw.pc  libkexiv2.pc  libkipi.pc  libksane.pc  phonon.pc

cat /usr/kde/svn/lib64/pkgconfig/libkipi.pc
Code:

prefix=/usr/kde/svn
exec_prefix=/usr/kde/svn/bin
libdir=/usr/kde/svn/lib64
includedir=/usr/kde/svn/include

Name: libkipi
Description: KDE Image Plugin Interface, a C++ library to share plugins among graphic applications.
URL: http://www.kipi-plugins.org
Requires:
Version: 0.2.0-svn
Libs: -L/usr/kde/svn/lib64 -lkipi
Cflags: -I/usr/kde/svn/include

ls /usr/kde/svn/lib64/libkipi.so*
Code:

ls /usr/kde/svn/lib64/libkipi.so*
/usr/kde/svn/lib64/libkipi.so    /usr/kde/svn/lib64/libkipi.so.5.0.0
/usr/kde/svn/lib64/libkipi.so.5

PS
This is the only package which fails that way. The only other I can't get to work since 6/6/2008 is decibel (which fails because it lacks some files, but it's a different story).

Hm, everything looks ok there, afaics.
Honestly, I have no idea, what is going on there.
Maybe try a different pkgconfig version?
