Has any one been able to build Firefox using QT instead of GTK as the tool kit.
as talked about here
http://blog.vlad1.com/2008/05/06/well-isnt-that-qt/ note: that is from 2008 not 2005
The post led me to believe it fairly stable on X11 although not embedded qt.
Is this something the maintainers for KDE or Firefox will enable with the USE="qt3 qt4 -gtk" ?

Hope this is the right place to post this if not I'm sry looked KDE related to me.

I wouldn't count on it unless it becomes officialy supported by Mozilla. On the other hand, you may want to ask in the Unsupported Software forum if anyone could put together a Mercurial ebuild for it...

I'd be interested in checking it out!

It IS officially supported, read the blog post. Vlad is a Mozilla employee. But it'll probably take months before it becomes usable. This is Firefox 4 stuff.

Well I have waited this long I guess i can wait a year more. Since I know nothing about programing maybe some one can anser this question for me. Will the work being done on Firefox qt make porting Thunderbird to qt easer and if a plug in is written for FF does the plugin care what tool it uses as far as GTK QT goes?

from the blog:

hope that in the future that the Qt port will be a toplevel supported Gecko port, alongside gtk2, Win32, and OSX, but there's still a bunch of work needed to make that happen.
That's not really support...
