Hi! This is my first post here.

I wanted to install a simpler i686 optimised Gentoo - Litrix on my notebook which has only external USB CD-ROM.
However, it does not boot from live CD. Just after the splash screen with Litrix logo appears the botting interupts to the bash terminal
after the following messages:

Quote:
mount: /dev/ is not a block device
umount: /dev/: not mounted
Falha no acesso ao CDROM
bash: no job control in this shell

This live CD boots fine on a core2duo laptop with internal CD-ROM.

I have seen other boot options (F2-F6) in addition to the default litrix kernel, but none of them seem to be accepted if I type e.g.
doscsi or litrix-doscsi.

Is there a way out?

I am not familiar with Litrix, but in general, the bootloader is expecting you to type the name of an available kernel, followed by a space, then a space separated list of kernel (or initrd) options.

It would look something like this :
Code:
boot : gentoo acpi=off nox

Code:
boot : litrix doscsi vga=normal

etc ...

ps. Welcome to the Gentoo Forums.

Welcome to the forums. There have been reports of others having problems using the Litrix images, but they have not been resolved in part due to the apparent lack of Litrix users here.

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Unsupported Software, due to Litrix being a third party project.
