Hello!

I'm trying to get Emacs working good for Java development. And I'm now trying to get Flymake working. I saw in the Emacs Wiki that there was two options for this. One is for the Jikes compiler and one is for the Eclipse compiler. And since Jikes seems to be outdated my eyes where more on ECJ. But I use SUN's compiler JDK (don't ask me why). Why aren't there any Flymake feature for this compiler? Or is there? And how come JDK is more than 100 times larger than ECJ?
Code:
$ emerge -s "%@dev-java/eclipse-ecj" "%@dev-java/sun-jdk"

Can someone please tell me the difference between these two packages?

Have a look at the output of

Code:
equery depgraph eclipse-ecj

You'll see this depends on sun-jdk. For example, here are the first few lines of output that I see...

Code:
dev-java/eclipse-ecj-3.2:
`-- dev-java/eclipse-ecj-3.2
 `-- virtual/jre-1.6.0 (virtual/jre-1.4)
  `-- virtual/jdk-1.6.0 (virtual/jdk-1.6.0*)
   `-- dev-java/sun-jdk-1.6.0.06

Ok! So eclipse-ecj is a compiler only. Thanks! :D
