I don't use songbird but songbird-bin 0.5-r1 is in roslin overlay. This is a binary version, though.

in roslin overlay is old version of Songbird. If you want new version, look at my topic - https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-582893-highlight-songbird.html - there are my ebuilds for all versions of Songbird-bin, and these ebuilds are in acron overlay.
(I've made ebuild for 0.6 today.)

btw. all versions of Songbird are unstable ;) 0.5 and 0.6 too

Check the Sunrise overlay. If they don't have the latest version, you can help them to get up to date in the #gentoo-sunrise IRC channel.

Is there any indication that xmms2 will hit portage anytime soon ? i would love to be able to use the shn plugin. Have tons of audio files in shn format. Audacious doesnt have a plugin, and gmplayer doesnt play nice.

It is listed as a maintainer-wanted package in bug 93583. I'm not aware of anyone wanting to maintain that package in portage. You should be able to play shn files with qmmp (in portage, keyworded ~amd64/~x86) when you have USE=ffmpeg enabled.

Hi. I've looked into sunrise overlay. I've saw, they have old version (1.0.0) of Songbird. I've saw, it's my ebuild, only links to newer versions are updated ;) So, I'll do new ebuild for a while and I'll put it to my old topic - https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-582893-highlight-songbird+ebuild.html

cheers.

You can submit it to Sunrise yourself.

Sorry to disturb, but are all this ebuilds bringing binary versions?
I'm using a no-multilib AMD64 system, and would actually love to keep it without emul-x86 and with the package easily managed through portage...
Is there any ebuild to actually build it instead of grabbing a binary version? Or should I download the code from Mozilla and build it myself?
By the way, happy new year to everyone!
