You have to enable the export of unused/obsolete symbols under kernel hacking.
Works fine over here.

so THAT's the secret switch ?

thanks :)

works now :P

zenmm is even faster, more stable, etc. than zen-sources

anyone of you is using: PCI Express ASPM support ?

@rmh3093
:

the thread's title should be changed accordingly to zenmm-release (if possible)

thanks !

just wanted to drop a note & let you guys know that reiser4 works fine (without obvious problems) so far

I have one question, though: how are you guys handling patches posted on the reiserfs mailing list applying to reiser4?

e.g. these

are you waiting until they are assimilated into mm-tree & then merge it from mm (for zen-sources) / wait for latest mm-patch and update zenmm ?

or is there another routine ?

Lol, we need another thread about -zenrt now!

Reading http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=116514 you need another patch:

http://gimpel.ath.cx/files/nvidia-drivers-177.13-dot26-git.patch

It compiles, but I haven't booted that kernel yet. So no idea if it loads & works, or if it simply will burn out your GPU with a funky POOF!

Hey Gimpel, is this a kernel patchset we can trust :) ?
[LIL OT]
Im planning back to gentoo world.
I see that You have M-Audio A2496 card.
Maybe You know about Lynx Two support in AlSA,OSS, maybe in -mm ?

Teh fallow!!! Hey dude, whazzup? :)

-zenrt just hardlocks ocasionally. But it's not a zen, but an -rt problem. I also tested plain 2.6.26-rt1 on ext3 partitions, also hardlocks.
Last stable/usable -rt is .24

Never heard of Lynx Two. Looks like an awesome device. But no idea, www.alsa-project.org is down. The soundcard matrix could tell more.

I wasnt sure you will rememebr me dude :D hehe. Long time!! :)
Ive started work few years ago and my free time crashed. Now I have a bit more of them :)
Am thinking about restarting genetic based cpu scheduler but - with rewriting it from 0.

Lynx Two is some nice sound card -> http://www.lynxstudio.com/product_detail.asp?i=12

Ive discovered that probably support is only via OSS currently, It sad that ALSA probably doesnt support it :(

I fixed my problem with:

ln -s ./include/linux/semaphore.h ./include/asm/

Might want to patch thinkpad_ec to look in the right place.

I've been trying to find how to instal the zenmm sources but there only seems to be a zen-sources and not a zenmm-sources on zen-overlay. Where can I get an ebuild for zenmm-sources?

No tags, no patches, no ebuild, but
Code:
git clone git://zen-sources.org/zen/kernel-mm.git

the rw_mutex thingy seems to be "broken",

sometimes it only gets to the point were init should be loaded and just sits there,

in another case it went until activation of hal / ... and hang there

sigh, so no 6% speed gain per processor :P

just had a hardlock + caps- + numlock flashing

I had lots of i/o errors on reiserfs (/home/ and system partition,

this seems to be caused by either bluetooth or ifconfig / tg3 something, unfortunately it doesn't appear in any logfiles ...:

here's a BUG I found in kern.log:

@fallow:

welcome back ! :)

I'm looking forward to a new version of genetic patchset, take your time, enjoy your stay - have fun :P

at first glance these do not look to be the fault of rw_mutex or reiser4

ah, sorry:

those are from the pre-rw_mutex kernel

when exactly was this merge, in -zenmm im testing some reiser4 code changes (im working on some of the items on the reiser4 todo list for mainline inclusion) so bewarned....

i reverted the rw_mutex changes in reiser4 but there are new changes in there now, idk what you were all using... if u have issues with current master then i will revert the changes and tag zenmm1 so that you can all use that specifically and ignore my playing for the time being (or you can test my changes)

ok let me try this last git pull.

EDIT:

same. emerge and paludis hang. it's sure a reiser4 problem.

indeed - for me it doesn't even pass / launch snort

update: there was another update / fixes to reiser4

nice 8)

now it only needs to work

will test that asap

thanks for your work on reiser4, rmh3093 / Ryan :)

why revert TODO #14 ?

it works fine here so far: TODO #14 + #9 seem to work out well :o

it has survived emerge, a kernel-compile with a load of 30 (make -j 25), additional things to come (rsync, starting apps, etc etc.)

thanks :)

because i got this weird bug in dmesgwith todo #14, it looks like an jdb2 problem but it only happens with that r4 change, htere is a new version in latest master
give that a try

yeah, I seemingly hit something weird, too

I entered
Code:
sync
, and it's doing that for a pretty long time now already (I don't hope it's syncing the filesystem or hdd to death 8O )

any ideas what to do now ?

I still haven't tried out the latest git you pointed me to ...

thanks :(

HELP !

my harddrive's clattering is pretty scary :(

it's doing that already since at least 35 minutes (the longest with much older kernel-releases was 45 minutes afaik)

any ideas what to do after it hasn't stopped at 50 minutes ?

many thanks in advance :(
