|I need to set up a MySQL Cluster configuration for a web server. I have made some tests with the current stable dev-db/mysql-5.0.54 ebuild, with the cluster use flag set. Since I started testing, I was also following the MySQL Cluster mailing list and saw that the devs strongly recommend against using Cluster from the MySQL 5.0.x series, and say that now Cluster development was taken outside of the MySQL tree. They recommend NDB 6.2.x for production environments. If I had different dedicated servers, I would simply compile from source and install to /usr/local/mysql-<version>. But the cluster must run on the same machine as Apache, so PHP should be compiled against this version of MySQL:
Is there a way to recompile all packages that compile against MySQL using the one installed to /usr/local/mysql? I would like to be able to keep my old ebuild-based MySQL around too.
