PostPosted: Thu Jul 24, 2008 4:16 pm    Post subject: java-overlay azureus libswt-mozilla-gtk-3436.so [SOLVED] Reply with quote

I recently started using the java-overlay because I wanted icedtea6. I am on a 64 bit system and I've been running firefox in a 32 bit chroot forever. I decided to go for it and I emerged FF3, icedtea6 and swfdec. I needed the overlay for this. Anyway, all is working well with the exception of azureus. When I run azures, I get this error:
Code:

/usr/lib/jvm/sun-jdk-1.5/bin/java: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libswt-mozilla-gtk-3436.so: undefined symbol: NS_StringContainerInit2

Any ideas? I thought that perhaps I should re-emerge swt, but when I go to do that, I get this:

Code:

[ebuild     UD] www-client/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.16 [3.0.1] USE="java xinerama%* xprint%* -bindist -debug% -filepicker% -gnome -iceweasel -ipv6 -mozdevelop -moznopango% -restrict-javascript -xforms% (-custom-optimization%) (-dbus%*) (-startup-notification%) (-xulrunner%*)" LINGUAS="-af -ar -be -bg% -ca -cs -da -de -el -en -en_GB -en_US -es -es_AR -es_ES -eu -fi -fr -fy -fy_NL -ga -ga_IE -gu -gu_IN -he -hu -it -ja -ka -ko -ku -lt -mk -mn -nb -nb_NO -nl -nn -nn_NO -pa -pa_IN -pl -pt -pt_BR -pt_PT -ro -ru -sk -sl -sv -sv_SE -tr -uk -zh -zh_CN -zh_TW (-id%) (-si%) (-sq%) (-sr%)" 0 kB
[ebuild   R   ] dev-java/swt-3.4_pre6-r1  USE="firefox opengl -cairo -gnome -seamonkey -xulrunner" 0 kB

So, it seems like it wants to revert to 2.0.0.16 version of Firefox.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe try reinstalling azureus? It looks like it's trying to use sun's binary java instead of icedtea. Also check "eselect java-vm list".

Hmm... I thought you were on to something there. I used eselect java-vm to set the system vm to icedtea6 and then I re-emerged azureus. I also tried for the 3.1.1.0 version while I was at it.

Code:
/usr/lib/jvm//icedtea6/bin/java: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libswt-mozilla-gtk-3436.so: undefined symbol: NS_StringContainerInit2

same error, though.

Code:
 $ eselect java-vm list
Available Java Virtual Machines:
  [1]   blackdown-jdk-1.4.2
  [2]   blackdown-jre-1.4.2
  [3]   emul-linux-x86-java-1.5
  [4]   emul-linux-x86-java-1.6
  [5]   icedtea6  system-vm user-vm
  [6]   sun-jdk-1.5

Dang!

Try running revdep-rebuild to see if it picks up anything.

Ah ha! Rebuilding swt with "-firefox" as a use flag fixed me up, it seems.
