hi, I have been trying to get compiz-fusion working for a while now. it worked before i reinstalled gentoo but now it doesn't! i read various posts about compiz-start not being the way to start compiz any more and that fusion-icon was better. i couldnt emerge it as no ebuilds where found. so i went off and read about overlays etc and added desktop-effects. but it still wont work!

i get:
Code:

--- Invalid atom in /etc/portage/package.use: utils
Calculating dependencies \
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "~dev-python/compizconfig-python-9999" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- dev-python/compizconfig-python-9999 (masked by: missing keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.
(dependency required by "x11-apps/fusion-icon-9999" [ebuild])

i read about unmasking "missing keyword" packages but it they dont make it sound like a very safe thing to do. any one have the same problem or have any ideas?

thank you in advance

tom
