I'm not one for asking stupid questions but nobody seems to know in IRC and there doesn't seem to be a definitive forum post about it. How do you do suspend on the last G4 aluminum powerbooks (1.6 ghz 15") with the radeon video chipsets? I saw a reference to pmud, but that utility is no longer in the portage tree. On other laptops I use the ACPI functionality with the hibernate scripts, but of course PMU is not really ACPI. Any help would be appreciated.

putting my alubook to sleep works just fine here; hibernate ( suspend to disk) works, well ... it doesn´t work accurately for me and never did. I tried with stock kernel infrastructure and with tuxonice and the latter works a bit better better; it may work , but dont expect a fully working hibernate process.

Try out yourself, maybe you have more luck than me. It depens on your powerbook too, i think i have read somewhere that neither suspend / hibernate can work on powerbooks with a nvidia card but don´t quote me on this.
There is also support for "kexec jump" now in kernel 2.6.27-rc1 which is another possible approach but i´m not sure if kexec-tools do work on ppc again.

cheers
