Not sure of this is related to anything in the kernel or not, but my wireless connection has been just terrible recently. Wasnt sure if there were any upstream changes i wasnt aware of.

Also. have any of you ever played with any of the settings in /sys/bus/pci/drivers/iwl3945/ ?? I would do anything to increase my transfer rates.

I am using 2.6.27-rc7-zen3 with iwl3945 for a few days and the wireless connection is just fine.

Hi folks.

I just tried the latest git pull. The kernel won't compile.

Code:

  CC [M]  lib/ts_bm.o
  CC [M]  lib/ts_fsm.o
  Building modules, stage 2.
  MODPOST 1446 modules
ERROR: "__udivdi3" [block/vr-iosched.ko] undefined!
WARNING: modpost: Found 5 section mismatch(es).
To see full details build your kernel with:
'make CONFIG_DEBUG_SECTION_MISMATCH=y'
make[2]: *** [__modpost] Error 1
make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/zen-sources'
make: *** [debian/stamp-build-kernel] Error 2

What am I doing wrong here? Would be great if somebody could get me a hint.

THX for your support.

pull again,

and/or if you're running ~amd64 / x86_64, disable all additional i/o-schedulers besides anticipatory,

since afaik (atm) only as works with amd64 and genetics (if that is enabled),

if genetics isn't enabled I dunno, ask cheater, the others :P

Hi there.

I am trying to install newest ALSA-drivers 1.0.18rc3 on top of 2.6.27rc8-zen1 (latest git).

./configure on the driver package is giving me following message:

Code:
checking for kernel linux/version.h... no
The file /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h does not exist.
Please install the package with full kernel sources for your distribution
or use --with-kernel=dir option to specify another directory with kernel

The file version.h does not exist in the source tree as it seems.

Any ideas what's gone wrong?

THX.

Cheers

I've had the same problem, it happens when you have some flag that causes it not to remount.
Not exactly sure which one, but look over your flags for mounting xfs.

It should show up once you compile your kernel ;)

One more regarding zen-sources.eclass. I’ve tried to install 2.6.27_rc7-r30 but got the same problem with 2.6.27-rc7-zen3.patch like before.

I’ve to modify eclass.patch to have these kernel sources installed properly.

no, i simply have this in /etc/fstab
Code:
/dev/ramzswap0   swap             swap        pri=1,defaults         0   0

obviously only if module is loaded/static in the kernel you got /dev/ramzswap0

I cant believe I just said 'only 1GB of RAM' 8O
