I just emerged conky and it runs great. I followed the gentoo conky howto http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/conky-howto.xml. I'm stuck on the step where I copy the sample configuration to my home directory. It says to run the command:

Code:

zcat /usr/share/doc/conky-1.5.1/conkyrc.sample.gz >> ~/.conkyrc

This returns an error saying: No such file or directory and i know exactly why. When i go into /usr/share/doc/conky-1.5.1, there is no conkyrc.sample.gz file. Is this something i have to get somewhere?

Also, i've never used a system monitor like this before. How do people get it to load at startup and sit on the desktop?
