After updating to vanilla-sources 2.6.26 i started to have this kind of error when compiling vmware modules or virtualbox modules too.

my current kernel config is here

This could be due to some virtualization settings in the kernel but i have no idea about it.

Suggestions ?

 * Found kernel object directory:

Currently i have virtual box running
Code:
 app-emulation/virtualbox-bin 1.6.4
 app-emulation/virtualbox-modules
  Latest version installed: 1.6.4

and regarding vmware; it seems to be a vmware bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=232113
I will consider this topic to be SOLVED for me. I am also moving away from vmware in favor of virtualbox.
