this is XFCE

I've lost my wm since I did some following of the wiki compiz-fusion howto - how do I set the wm back to original - all I did was a compiz-start and tried a few other things but now I have no window control. (compiz is (not?) working but config runs and with the nvidia drivers there are no errors.

Fortunately I have virtualbox running so I can move windows when I really need to but otherwise I have an environment without borders.

From a console simply start the xfce window manager with...

Code:

$ xfwm4

Then when you exit make sure you save the current settings.

Next time you log in xfwm4 will be your WM and you needn\'t worry about saving the settings on subsequent exits.

Thank you that was just the ticket. I then had to turn compositing off in the wm settings for xfwm and all is setup.
