Hey!

I have some of kde-svn (bleeding edge KDE4) installed for testing how it's coming along. I still have 3.5.10 that I use daily, of course.

My question is:

Is there an easy way to recompile all the things that I've installed through layman? I can't just do an "emerge -e" for obvious reasons. I *could* do:

Code:
for PKG in `qlist -IvC 9999` ; do emerge -v ="$PKG" ; done

But that seems like I'm re-inventing the wheel.

Layman packages don't show up in world in any obvious way:

Code:
# qlist -Iv ktorrent
net-p2p/ktorrent-2.2.7
net-p2p/ktorrent-9999
root@aragorn /usr/portage/local/layman # grep ktorrent /var/lib/portage/world
net-p2p/ktorrent

So as the code is being updated, is there an easy-ish way to recompile it all?

Thanx,
M.

If you switch to the bleeding-edge portage (unkeyword portage 2.2), "emerge @live-rebuild" should do just that!

I'm sorry about the lack of communication I haven't been home in front of my machines much lately (and I'm typing this reply from my Blackberry :-/ )

That was EXACTLY what I was looking for! It was a pretty smooth transition also. I had a few small --depclean issues with the machine with two KDE installations (3.5.9 & 4 svn) but that was no big deal. I just remerged the 3.5 versions of things and all was well.

Thank you!
