I'm writing a small installer for a Gentoo based system. Basically, it formats the drive, untars a stage3, chroots, syncs portage with a local rsync server, gets a kernel an initrd from a server and puts it in /boot, syncs /lib/modules with that server, installs and configures GRUB. OK, let's reboot. Kernel starts, system starts. Then

Code:

Letting udev process events
   udev loading module ...
   udev loading module ...
   udev loading module ...
   udev loading module ...
   udev loading module ...
   udev loading module ...
   udev loading module ...
   udev loading module ...

Then the PC hangs. The order of the modules seems to change slightly over reboots, but they're always the same, so it's probably not something with the modules. What is supposed to happen next?
