Do you have directory called KDEWorkspace inside /usr/lib64/kde/lib or /usr/lib64/kde/ and what is it's content

Nope. I will try to find it using find from a ssh window. I am at work now and the gentoo box is at home.

It does not seem like I have that folder anywhere on my system.

Code:
jmd0 ~ # find / -name "*KDEWorkspace*" -type d -print
jmd0 ~ #

Thank you mkyral very much. I hope it gets put into the kde-krazy overlay.

Only problem is I had to set SLOT="0" to SLOT="live" to work with kde-4.2 live but other than that it works ^__________^

BUG REPORT

There is a bug in kde-crazy/media-sound/phonon/phonon-9999.ebuild. Near the bottom is a line:
Code:
sed -e '326d' -i "${WORKDIR}/${P}/CMakeLists.txt"

I believe this is supposed to delete the instruction:
Code:
add_subdirectory(xine)

from CMakeLists.txt. Problem is, that instruction is on line 264 not 326.

Hi there !

Does Amarok 2.0 is supposed to work with KDE 4.2 ? It does not build here :(

Is there any reason you didn't actually post the error?

Hi guys,

I just upgraded to 4.1.85, and restarted KDM... but it crashed...

I get this error in kdm.log :

Code:
kdmgreet: Fatal IO error: client killed
FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

Does someone have got this error ?

Thanx ;)

BUG REPORT

There is a bug in kde-crazy/app-office/akonadi-server/akonadi-server-9999.ebuild. The ebuild does not depend on dev-libs/boost, so emerge dies with "Akonadi requires the Boost C++ libraries."

Just one question. The kde homepage says about kde 4.2 beta:
http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-4.2-beta2.php
Quote:
A new printing configuration system brings back a number of features users have been missing in KDE 4.0 and 4.1. The components "printer-applet" and "system-config-printer" are shipped with the kdeadmin and kdeutils module.

where is this in the kde-crazy overlay? I think it is absent. It would be important to add it.

Secondly, kopete, pykde4 and k3b still fail with the same errors as I gave a few posts above.
By the way, this is my emerge --info

Hello,

I have installed the latest kde4.2 (4.1.85), and one problem I have is that the global shortcuts don't work at all. The most important is ALT+TAB, which does nothing in most cases, or is interpreted as a TAB in konsole. In System Settins -> Keyobard & Mouse -> Global Keyboard Shortcuts there is nothing in the KDE component drop-down menu, and I cannot set any shortcuts. I can press Import Scheme and select a predefined one, but it has no effect when applied.

Did anyone else run into this or maybe has a solution?

Yes, these three + marble failed for me before I sync'ed the kde-crazy overlay and those three built correctly after that, but Marble still doesn't compile:
Code:

Although I originally thought that all had built (when checking remotly from work to home) however I did have the following packages fail:
Code:

>>> Emerging (1 of 5) kde-base/marble-4.1.85
>>> Emerging (2 of 5) kde-base/ktux-4.1.85
>>> Emerging (3 of 5) kde-base/kdeartwork-kscreensaver-4.1.85
>>> Emerging (4 of 5) kde-base/kdeplasma-addons-4.1.85

And like Shamus397 all but marble have built.

So it has nothing to do with kdeprefix. Good to know it.

I just went ~x86 for various reasons and now pykde4 builds for me. However ksreensaver doesn't.
[edit] I had a bit of layman strangeness and once I sorted that I got kscreensaver to build. Now on to some other problems.

Building mysql with -fPIC worked around. I didn't find a "real" fix other than this work-around.

I've asked this before but will try again more simply:

Anyone know why (and especially how to fix) when trying to emerge digikam-0.10.0_beta6, it can't find the installed libraries of libkdcraw, libkdepimlibs, libkipi, libkexiv2, etc.? I have kdebase-4.1.85 installed with kdeprefix and have kdebase-3.5.10 installed as well. I have both versions installed of above packages. Digikam-9.4 is installed from kde-3.5, but even it seems to not find the kipi plugins.

Something that may be related is I have amarok-2.0 installed but in kde-4.1.85, it only sees the amarok-1.4 version from kde-3.5.
