Hi,

I'm using a powerbook 1.5GHZ with a French keyboard. I found few mapping files for my pb, but I'm not totally satisfied with them. I would like to make my own, for the console and X11, starting from scratch.

I guess my pb uses a USB Keyboard (but not totally sure).

But I'm already not able to get all scancodes using showkey! (eg. f12 or fn keys are not outputing anything). I heard about differents linux drivers such as "keyboard" or "evdev".

Could someone helps me a little bit with this?

Thank you guys.

have a look at this http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Use_Multimedia_Keys it might help with the xorg side of things, not sure about on the consoles tho, i used that to setup my ati remote wonder remote control and load it when x loads like so :

file: /home/mythtv/.xinitrc
Code:

xmodmap /home/mythtv/.ati-remote

my mappings are as follows :
Code:
!rec
keycode 177 = F12
!vol-
keycode 174 = 9
!vol+
keycode 176 = 0
!book
keycode 230 = Next
!hand
keycode 136 = Prior
! PLAY
keycode 179 = Return
! PAUSE
keycode 110 = space
! STOP
keycode 96 = q
! FULLSCREEN
keycode 106 = f
!m
keycode 160 = m
! FORWARD
keycode 165 = Up
! REWIND
keycode 104 = Down
!left
keycode 152 = Left
!right
keycode 233 = Right
!q
keycode 232 = Escape
!i
keycode 130 = i
!s
keycode 158 = s
!pageup
keycode 140 = KP_Up
!pagedown
keycode 146 = KP_Down
!backspace
keycode 177 = BackSpace
!tab
keycode 222 = Tab

ps i think it's xmodmap -pk to find the list of keys u can use with the keycodes.

good luck :-)
