Hi, tried to install vmware-server-2.0.0.116503.ebuild from the vmware overlay but the distfile can not be fetched (don't exist anymore?). Anyone got a working ebuild (64bit support) or a guide on how to install the latest sources from vmware.com manually?

Did something similar but didn't succeed:

- Downloaded VMware-server-2.0.0-122956.x86_64.tar.gz
- checked md5
- modified ebuild from vmware overlay to use this file
- emerge died when extracting the file:
Code:
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking VMware-server-2.0.0-122956.x86_64.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/app-emulation/vmware-server-2.0.0.122956/work

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file

Any ideas someone?

Code:

ls /piefnia/overlays/vmware/app-emulation/vmware-server/
./  ../  files/  Manifest  metadata.xml  .svn/  vmware-server-1.0.7.108231.ebuild  vmware-server-2.0.0.116503.ebuild

wrong version... there isno ebuild for this version
so you can try to "rename" ebuild and emerege it
or you can wait until new come

Actually that's what I did. I copied the ebuild from the layman overlay to my own local overlay, renamed and digested. No success.

Just checked the file in distfiles again. It was corrupted for unknown reason. Replaced it with a sane tarball and now emerge works fine.
