|I've recently bought a Pertelian LCD display (4x20 screen), and while trying to find a program to run it, i was unable to find anything that worked (lcdproc worked, but there is a bug in it that prevents it from being restarted). I did, however, find a perl script that works, albeit only on a very basic level.
http://pertelian.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19 <-- that is the original script
http://www.pastebin.ca/1256611 <--the script after a small change here and there, along with alot of commenting and notes
I ran across a page I think list the specs for this display here --> http://home.iae.nl/users/pouweha/lcd/lcd0.shtml#instruction_set
I'm having a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to control the display, and most of the information on the spec site is close to useless to me.
Can someone refer me to a howto or something that could help me translate the instructions listed on the site into something I can send to the display, as well as help me figure out what is going on in the init() function of the original script?
