btw:
1) use emake instead of make
2) keyword the ebuild ~amd64 ~x86
3) Don't reasign ${S}, use ${My_S}
4) Check the dependencies if they are really required during runtime or only at the moment compiling the binary

I've worked with upstream today, and he made JPEG pix format support working with gspca drivers. It should be in next release, with our locale.h patch from Portage. This made my second webcam working as well, which luvcview already
supported. Very nice upstream. :)
