Hi,

networkmanager 0.7 just has been released today,

I don't want to bother the devs (yet) so:

anyone has an ebuild for the stable version (+ nm-applet) ?

does renaming nm-applet and networkmanager suffice ?

many thanks in advance

rbu has been maintaining ebuilds for the release candidates for a while in his tree. Stay tuned, maybe you´ll find one there in short ;)

cheers

I've bumped NM in rbu's overlay the same day tarballs were released . I hope it will hit official tree this week (hard masked tho). It should hit ~arch when I finish migration guide.

Today I also bumped all VPN plugins.

anyone was successful in connecting to a WPA1 or WPA2 enterprise network ?

there seems to be some voodoo involved in succeeding to do so:

http://sites.google.com/site/kengell/acer-one-wpa2-enterprise

or a more recent version of it

any thanks in advance for your help :)

I can report only failure to WPA Enterprise. I couldn't even connect to WPA Personal at home.

I was using Intel 4965, Broadcom BCM4308 and Ralink rt73 :(

I am REALLY disappointed

I was using 0.7.0 and 9999 from rbu

We're waiting for final knetworkmanager 0.7 before it can hit the portage tree. Right now you can only try snapshot version.

What are your problems? Can you post some logs? I'm using WPA/WPA2 personal on intel4965 and it works flawlessly.

There were some issues with EAP-TLS wired connection, which will be addresses with 0.7.1.

THAT's the problem WPA/WPA2 personal works fine but NOT Enterprise

perhaps the problems with EAP-TLS you mentioned and/or PEAP, MSCHAPv2 are the ones causing it to fail

for so many people

any ETA until 0.7.1 or higher version with fixes will be out ?

here are some of those bugs:

Bug 558175 – Connection to 'Eduroam' 802.1x EAP-TTLS (RADIUS) secured wireless network fails

Bug 556925 – Unable to connect to WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK protected networks

I have an 3945ABG, too so that could be a problem:

Bug 508992 – Cannot join wireless network (Intel 3945ABG)

Bug 396636 – connection failure with ipw3945
