I've installed Microsoft Word 2003 using Crossover and this is what I get when I launch it:

hi,

word2003 with crossover 6x worked fine for me. 2007 works well, too. (using crossover 7x, thanks to lame duck presidental challenge :) ).

well, google comes up with thousands of hits. maybe try that one (word 2002 but maybe related [replacing office 10.0 with 11.0?)
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B322206&x=16&y=11
or that one mght be better:
http://www.technologyquestions.com/technology/microsoft-office/114489-mircrosoft-office-word-has-not-been-installed-current-user.html?q=microsoft-office/114489-mircrosoft-office-word-has-not-been-installed-current-user.html (you can generate that regfiles on another machine runnning windows [a friend amybe] using a virtual machine [virtualbox, vmware] or by simply boting windows if you have a dual boot setuo)
or one of the others. i searched for "microsoft office has not been installed for the current user"

You know how to access the registry editor using crossover?

1. start crossover "configuration"
2. click tab manage bottles
3. select the bottle you installed office in and click configure
4. choose tab control panel
5. click button labeled run
6. type "regedit" and press enter

Cheers!

did you use a new bottle? sometimes installing two pieces of windows software in one bottle produces strange results. on linux side you started and installed using the same user account?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898512/en-us, section cause

Quote:

This issue occurs when the non-administrative user accounts on the computer do not have permission to modify specific files that are used by the Office 2003 Setup program or the Office XP Setup program. These files are used by the Office 2003 Setup program or the Office XP Setup program to register different accounts for access to the Office programs. This issue may occur if a Group Policy high-security template was applied to the computer and if the high-security template restricts access to the following file:

Office 2003
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data\Opa11.dat
Office XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data\Data.dat
If the non-administrative user accounts cannot modify this file, users cannot start any Office 2003 programs or Office XP programs on the computer. The Opa11.dat file and the Data.dat file are hardware specific and are compiled during installation of Office.

Did you check whether the linux user you are running wine/crossover as has full access to that file?

EDIT: I always experienced the codeweaver support to be very helpful. They might know a specific solution as it is their software...
