Did you do something in particular to get it compiled ?

Nopes, just compile it. No need to do anything at all, other than compile it. :) (As an aside, I switched back to 4.2 for now - it is quite choppy - not meant as the primary DE which I wanted it to be)

UPDATE on my plasma-workspace problem.
This time, commenting out that experimental fake-panel -transparency patch and redigesting alllowed plasma-workspace-9999-r1 to compile and install. Finally! :D
Now to try on the pure gcc-4.4.1_pre9999 box. :roll:
Code:
# epatch "${FILESDIR}/${PN}-fake-panel-transparency.patch"

Don't actually know if it was commenting out the patch, or if a fix was in revision 964464- it had a bunch of updates.

UPDATE: Finished up on my gcc-4.4.1_pre9999 box with kde-svn. Set @kdepim-live fails because libkdepim (first package) fails-
Code:
Could NOT find KdepimLibs (missing: KdepimLibs_CONFIG)
Haven't found a workaround. However all my other kde-svn selected packages are working, at:
Quote:
Dolphin
Version 1.2.80
Using KDE 4.2.85 (KDE 4.2.85 (KDE 4.3 Beta1))

Does anyone else have the following problem?
When using the "Now playing" widget and amarok-2.0.2-r3 the playlist frequently skips over one or even two songs in the playlist, despite the fact that if I click on them in the playlist amarok can play them fine. Also this problem doesn't occur when the "now playing" widget is not loaded.

I have a full kde-4.2.3 install thought this bug has plagued me for all of the 4.2.x release.

yeah - well kde gets some last-minute fixes for 4.3 beta 1 release I guess so there most probably are some problems (compilation failures included)

pykde4 compiled for you ?

Still have this issue with KDE-4.2.85. Anyone has an idea about this?

thanks rahulthewall !

could you eventually please post your CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS ?

I'm always getting the following kind of errors:

Quote:
error: ‘KSystemTimeZones_Simulated’ has not been declared

or

Quote:
error: too many initializers for ‘sipTypeDef’

know I don't know if my CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS are screwed up or something else

thanks

Quick question... I'm using kde-4.2, and I'm considering update to kde-4.3, according to this. To do so, must I unmerge kde-4.2 first, or there are no conflicts reported about it?

Code:

cat /usr/local/portage/layman/kde-testing/Documentation/package.unmask/kde-4.3 >> /etc/portage/package.unmask

Oh, shame on me :P
Anyway, I copied kde-4.3 .unmask and keyword, and it was still complaining about some packages being ~amd64, namely:
Code:
kde-base/kdelirc
kde-base/mplayerthumbs
kde-base/oxygen-icons
kde-base/policykit-kde
kde-base/libknotificationitem
kde-base/thumbnailers
kde-base/ktron
kde-base/kcontactmanager
dev-python/pycups-1.9.45
app-admin/system-config-printer-common-1.1.3
app-misc/hal-cups-utils-0.6.19
media-gfx/exiv2-0.18
sys-auth/policykit-0.9-r1

with 4.2.85 version required whenever its not specified, and the following live-ebuilds were masked as well
Code:
dev-cpp/eigen-9999
sys-auth/policykit-qt-9999

After had edited both package.unmask and package.keywords, I was still getting a looooooooot of circular dependencies and blocks. But I found out that removing the set from /var/lib/portage/world_sets it should work fine. Then portage decided to emerge everything, but everything in New Slot - even though I'm NOT using kdeprefix user flag. I don't know if its a good idea to do so, so I haven't updated yet. What do you guys think about that?

Did you unmerge kde 4.2? I get conflicts because it tries to install under /usr/share/sip

Can you all help with a configuration problem? After playing with a lot of settings I have KDE4 working nearly as efficiently as KDE3, but I can't seem to figure out how to enable either right or middle clicking on the desktop to bring up the application menu.

this is a gsoc project, so its not implemented yet

I need help with my current state of kde-live:
~20 kde-pim packages don't build - hope the devs can fix that soon (kmail, i miss u and my mails) and somehow ktorrent and digikam seem to can't find their plugins. any ideas?

What's wrong with...

Code:

void RootWindow::mousePressEvent(QMouseEvent *event)
{
    if (event->button() == Qt::RightButton) {
        mainMenu->show();
    }
}

?
